Beautiful Kalga Village |
 |
Map of the region |
To those who had not read my earlier post, myself and my two newly married American couple frinds, Marin and Kate after enjoying the peace and tranquility of Tosh Valley had left for Burshiani for a moderate trek of 15 Kms to awesome Kheer Ganga. There was a motor-able road up to Burshiani and we intended spending night there before proceeding on Kheer Ganga Trek, next day. We reached Burshiani around 2 PM. We had an option of staying at beautiful Burshiani, a bigger village, being the starting point of the trek or walk up hill about 3 Kms to a picturesque and haunting village, Kalga. Never heard of this village! May be this was the reason "to know unknown" that motivated us to proceed further to Kalga.
And we were rewarded. What an awesome, remote and scenic Himalayan village! Though We were tired trekking, the fatigue, I must say the view was so breathtaking that all our fatigue just flew away! There were few foreigners, mostly Israelis with whom we chatted. In the evening we took a walk around the village and had a strange feeling. It was a different world...a remoteness and walking in the lap of nature having dense jungle on my left and glacier on my right. It was a strange and beautiful place. We sat on a rock feeling a tranquil relaxation. Something was stirring my soul...so peaceful...I could hear the sound of my own heartbeat. may be I was here before my birth or???
We had an early
Sabbath dinner at the Jewish house and returned to our place called “Moonlight Guesthouse”. In the night played cards and sang songs.
Next day, we started on our trek to Kheer Ganga. Roshan was our guide...
